Switching to BuMX

You can easily install the BundesMessengerX app parallel to your BundesMessenger app. This allows you to convince yourself of the advantages of BundesMessengerX and – if desired – continue to use both apps in parallel. Your access data remains the same. All your chats and contacts will, of course, be transferred to BuMX!

You can download the BundesMessengerX app from the respective App Store. Start the app and follow the login steps

First Start of the BuMX App:

• Start the (previous) BundesMessenger app on your smartphone
• Then open the BuMX app – all login data will now be directly taken over from the (previous) BuM app
• Subsequently, set a PIN (here you can use your existing PIN again or set a new one)
• You will now be prompted to verify your account

Verification
During the first registration on BuMX, you must verify yourself again; here you have two options:

Option 1:

• Open the BundesMessenger Web App on your PC
• Accept the verification request there
• A sequence of images will be displayed on both devices
• Compare the sequence of images on both devices and tap on Match if they match on They Match – this step is required on both sides, in BuMX and in the Web App

Verification via the (previous) BuM app on your smartphone is not possible!

Option 2:

• Select Enter Key
• Enter the recovery key that you set during the initial setup of BundesMessenger
